Took me 11 years to notice how many local ads just show the owner standing in front of the building
I was rewatching some old local car lot ads on YouTube last week and it finally hit me. Almost every single one opens the same way: the owner standing outside the dealership with his arms crossed, then a slow zoom. I counted 9 ads in a row on one channel and 7 of them did it. The funny part is I never noticed as a kid, I just remembered the phone number jingle. Now I catch it every time and it kind of ruins the magic a little. My favorite one still ends with the guy pointing at the camera and saying his own name like we forgot. Is there a name for this whole setup, or do I just call it the small business handshake shot?
