inThat Tuesday last month when everything went right on a Samsung fridge compressor swap in under 45 minutes
Got a buddy who does nothing but sealed system work. Makes 90k a year just hitting those jobs with a heated recovery tank and a $200 vacuum pump.

inThat elm I cabled last spring just let go in the wind and took out a fence
Did you drill test holes or probe the branch union before sinking the hardware in, or did you just go by visual inspection? I have had a couple failures traced back to hidden decay at the attachment point that looked sound from the outside. Sometimes a quick peek with a small bit will save you a major headache later.

inHot take: those cheap plastic drop cloths are a total waste of cash
Joining you in solidarity here, they are absolutely terrible. I tried the same thing last summer and ended up with paint seeping through onto my hardwood floor because one tiny spot got wet. It soaked right through like a paper towel. The canvas ones cost more but they actually do the job without making you want to throw your brush across the room. I mean, maybe I just didn't tape them down perfectly but the minute you move anything the plastic just bunches up and you're fighting it the whole time. Honestly felt like I was babysitting the plastic more than actually painting.

inDropped $40 on a month of ArtStation Pro for portfolio visibility
Hold up, gotta call out one thing. It's not really an algorithm in the traditional sense. ArtStation's algorithm just shows recent popular stuff mixed with some promoted work. The real issue is their search and discovery system is broken, not that it's some smart AI thing picking what to show. The algorithm mostly rewards artists who already have a big following or who post at peak hours. If you're a smaller creator, your stuff barely gets seen no matter how good it is. So blame the ranking system and how it prioritizes engagement, not really a complex algorithm.

inOverheard a guy at the fuel dock say 'just run it dry, it'll be fine' and I had to bite my tongue
Oh yeah, that's right up there with "just put a little diesel in the oil, it'll thin it right out" like that's some kind of pro tip and not a recipe for a rebuild. Running it dry doesn't clear the water out of the tank, it just lets the pump suck the crud straight into the injectors. But hey, if that guy wants to gamble $1200 on a $20 bottle of fuel stabilizer, that's his choice. I guess some folks just like learning things the expensive way.
