My cousin called my ad critique lazy, and I ended up rethinking the whole 'cringe equals flop' thing
Last Saturday my cousin Mark was over for a cookout in Sacramento and he pulled up the same ad I had just called a total flop in this sub. It was that mattress spot with the creepy dancing sheep, and he pointed out that his whole crew quoted it for a month straight. I voted it a flop because it made me cringe, but he said cringe gets shared where a clean ad just gets skipped. So now I'm wondering how many of my "pass" votes were really just me grading an ad on taste instead of results. Does anyone else here vote smash or pass based on actual sales data, or are we all just guessing from the couch?
