TIL adding 4 seconds of bad acting to my fake mattress ad got more saves than the polished cut
Last week I made two versions of a goofy sleep ad for a made up brand and put $20 behind each on TikTok. The clean one with nice lighting got 8 saves in 2 days. The sloppy one where I flopped on the bed and said 'wait, this is comfortable' with a weird face got 61 saves and 14 comments calling it an ad that knew it was an ad. What I learned is people save stuff they can roast or quote back at a friend, not stuff that looks like a commercial. The bad line became the hook because folks were repeating it in the comments. Has anyone else had a dumb 4 second clip outrun the whole real spot?
