Serious question, I saw a weird job posting at a coffee shop in Austin

Used to think those titles were cool until I saw the pay.

Tried a $20 can of 'fast-dry' polyurethane versus my usual $45 brand on a maple dresser. The cheap stuff stayed tacky for days.

Cheap poly is like a bad houseguest, it never knows when to leave. You saved twenty bucks but lost a week of your life waiting for it to dry. Sometimes the expensive lesson is the only one that sticks.

Tbh, a customer at our shop in Denver last month insisted his rough idle was from bad gas, but it turned out to be a cracked PCV hose I found after checking the vacuum lines with a smoke machine.

Honestly, that whole hidden leak hunt seems like overkill sometimes. A cracked PCV hose will cause a rough idle, sure, but is it really worth the time and smoke machine for every single truck? Those old Tritons have a dozen common issues that feel the same. Might just be a dirty throttle body or a tired coil pack acting up again.

Showerthought: The week my first batch of kimchi exploded

The real mess is when you don't get that warning pop. I had a jar of hot sauce ferment quietly for months until it decided to become a glass grenade, which makes @anna_ross19's kombucha geyser look tidy. At least an explosion means you know it's working.

Unpopular opinion: My AI scheduling assistant completely blew a $500 job last week.

Totally feel you on the AI blowing a job. Same thing happened with my email filter. It was supposed to sort client questions. Flagged a big order as spam and auto deleted it. Missed the deadline to confirm. Lost the whole project. These tools act smart until they cost you real cash. Now I check everything twice.
