Watched that Zillow 'hidden fees' ad 4 times before I caught what it was actually doing
Honestly I kept seeing that ad where the couple gets surprised by closing costs and I thought it was just a normal scare tactic. Then my wife pointed out the agent character never says a dollar amount once, it's all just raised eyebrows and sad music, which is weird for an ad claiming to be on your side. Did anyone else notice the fine print at the bottom says 'results vary by market'?
The "results vary by market" fine print got me laughing because I did the exact same thing, watched it like 4 times and never once clocked that the agent never says a number. My wife had to explain it to me too, so at least we're both dumb in the same way. It's such a weird move for an ad that acts like it's on your side, all those sad faces and piano notes but zero actual info. I finally noticed the fine print was like 6 words in tiny gray text at the bottom. Feels less like a warning and more like covering their backs.
