My coworker asked why I say "rizz" in meetings and I had to sit with that
Last Thursday my coworker Dana pulled me aside after a meeting and asked, nicely, why I keep saying "rizz" when I give project updates. I am 34 and picked it up from my cousin's kid over the summer, mostly as a joke, but somewhere along the way it became a real word I use. Dana said it doesn't sound cringe exactly, it sounds like I am trying too hard, and that stuck with me all weekend. Now I can't tell if I should quit cold turkey or just own it and keep going. How do you all decide when a slang word has worn out its welcome in your mouth?
