Honestly, I posted a clip of my cat knocking a plant off the windowsill in slow-mo for my 12 followers, and it somehow got 4 million views overnight because someone added a sad trombone sound.

Honestly my dog's most boring video of him just sighing got shared everywhere because I put the Curb Your Enthusiasm music over it. Tbh the clip is literally seven seconds of him being tired and it's my most watched thing ever. Ngl I've tried to film him doing actual tricks for years and nothing gets a look. The universe just decided that his regular Tuesday afternoon sigh was top tier content because of a bass line.

My friend said I should start with Python, but my cousin swears by JavaScript

I read a blog post last year that called this the "clicky feedback loop." The writer argued that immediate visual results, like @the_robin said, build a different kind of confidence. Seeing a button you coded actually change color or move a div across the screen makes the abstract idea of a function feel real. That first "wow, I made that happen" moment is a huge deal. It turns a logic puzzle into a toy you built yourself.

I saw a bullet journal set up in a coffee shop that changed my mind about weekly logs

Yeah, that's just smart compartmentalization, which we all do anyway with our phones and apps lol.

I was tracking the wrong thing at our big Phoenix conference

Man, that hits home. A buddy of mine ran a local tech meetup for years and bragged about his record headcount every month. He finally asked why the same core group kept showing up and a ton of new faces never came back. Turns out his talks ran so long that nobody could chat, and that's the whole point for most people. He swapped one speaker slot for a structured mixer and said the vibe changed completely. People actually made friends and started projects together. Your plan to cut talks for networking zones is spot on.

Visited my cousin's place in Denver and every single room had the same exact floating shelf setup

My buddy Jake moved into a new apartment complex in Austin last year. Every unit had the same three white floating shelves above the TV. It was like a weird rule in the lease.
