PSA: I tried the TikTok cucumber salad trend with the wrong vinegar and my whole Saturday cookout smelled like a pickle factory
Had 8 people coming over last Saturday so I figured I'd make that viral cucumber salad everyone's doing. I grabbed the rice vinegar but turns out I used a whole cup instead of a splash, and by the time guests showed up my kitchen smelled like straight pickle juice. I tried to fix it by dumping in sugar and soy sauce but that just made sweet pickle soup, so I ran to the store and made a second batch in 20 minutes. Lesson is measure that stuff, a little goes forever. Anyone got a ratio that actually tastes good and not like a deli?
