Tried the 'clean girl' slicked bun at 41 and my scalp filed a complaint

Attempted that tight gel bun trend for my sister's wedding in Austin two weeks ago and by the reception my hair hurt so bad I took it down in the bathroom. Anyone else over 30 find these teen hair trends are basically just headaches with extra steps?
