Found my old Lego bin at my parents place in Fresno and did the math on what those little bricks are worth now
So I finally hauled my old Lego bin out of my parents' garage in Fresno last weekend, and out of pure boredom I started looking up what some of the sets go for now. Turns out a sealed copy of the 1989 pirate ship I had, the Black Seas Barracuda, sold for over 2 grand on eBay last year, and I had that exact one sitting in the bin for like 20 years. I never had the box of course, mine got built and rebuilt into a hundred random spaceships, so the loose pieces are only worth a fraction of that. Honestly it kind of blew my mind that something I used to chew on as a kid is now a collector thing. I even called my buddy who runs a game store here and he said he sees people hunting old bins at garage sales every summer now. I'm not about to sell anything, too many memories in there, but it did make me feel less dumb for refusing to toss that bin every time my mom asked. Anyone else dig their old stash out and find out something they almost gave away is actually worth real money?
