My little AI recipe bot guessed 47 dinners right in a row and I don't know how to feel about it
I built a tiny model on my laptop back in March that just picks what I should cook based on what's in my fridge, and it nailed 47 meals straight before finally suggesting something dumb (pineapple in chili). The weird part is I trust it more than my own gut now, which feels wrong for a thing I coded in a weekend. Has anyone else had an AI call it right so often that it started messing with their head?
The thing that would mess with me most is not the 47 wins, it is that you stopped trusting your own gut in the first place. Like, did you ever doubt it during those 47 nights, or did you just quietly hand over the wheel? Because here is the sneaky part, a model that picks dinners is only ever tested on dinners you actually ate. It never gets graded on the nights it would have suggested something you hated and you just ignored it. So the streak might be real, or it might be that you only counted the hits. Either way the pineapple chili is the most useful thing it has done for you, because that is the moment it went back to being a dumb tool in your brain instead of an oracle.
