Am I the only one who thinks slapping a panel on every wall is lazy and sets us up for callbacks?
Last Tuesday I walked into a 3,200 sq ft ranch in Mesa and counted six keypads for a single zone system. That's not secure, it's a scavenger hunt. I get it, customers ask for buttons everywhere, but every extra keypad is another wire that can get nicked, another ground fault, another battery to die at 2am. I've been installing for 11 years and I can tell you the callbacks on multi-keypad jobs are triple what they are on a clean single-pad setup with a phone app. The real move is one solid panel in the master plus a wireless fob, and you save the homeowner $400 in parts and labor. Am I wrong here, or do you guys also fight the sales team on this?
