Walked a new build in Plano and the pre-wire crew stapled through every door contact run
Was there Friday doing a takeover quote on a 2,800 sq ft house and found six of the door contact loops reading open before I even hooked up a panel. Pulled the trim back and the romex staples were driven right through the jacket on three of them, real clean shot through the wire and into the stud. The builder keeps telling people any warm body with a staple gun can do pre-wire, but this is what it gets you. Now I'm quoting a full rewire on top of the panel swap and the homeowner is asking why the other guy's bid was $1,400 cheaper. Has anyone had luck getting builders to actually back the pre-wire sub when it's their own guy who did it?
