Vent: the $185 I paid a locksmith to drill my own front door was worth every penny
Everyone told me the locksmith quote was a ripoff and I should just call my brother in law with a drill. I was locked out on a Sunday evening in the Heights with my toddler in the car, and the guy showed up in 25 minutes and had the door open in under ten. The popular view here seems to be that you should never pay full price for a lockout, but I would pay that again tomorrow instead of waiting two hours and wrecking my own frame. Has anyone found a locksmith in town who charges less and still shows up that fast?
