Why does nobody talk about paying a pro to clean your dryer vent?
I always figured I could just stick a vacuum hose back there and call it good, but after reading about a house fire two streets over in Ventura, I went ahead and booked a local guy for $95. He pulled out a wad of lint the size of a small cat, plus a bird's nest from the outside flap that had been there who knows how long. I was ready to write it off as a waste of money until he showed me the airflow reading before and after, which went from almost nothing to normal in ten minutes. Now I'm wondering what else around the house I've been fooling myself about, so what are the other cheap service calls that actually save your bacon?
