DAE remember when finding an anime meant digging through sketchy sites, not scrolling a list
Back in 2009 I tried to track down the last 12 episodes of a show a guy at my local shop in Akron swore was worth it, and it took me 4 months of burned DVDs and dead links to finally finish it. Now I pull up a streaming app and the whole thing is sitting there in 2 taps, which is great but also weirdly less satisfying. Half the fun was the hunt and the forum threads trading episode numbers. Does anyone else miss the chase, or am I just being old about it?
Oh man, the burned DVD struggle was real. I once waited three weeks for a guy on a forum to mail me a disc with the last four episodes of some mecha show, and it showed up so scratched it skipped every fight scene. Meant I basically watched the whole finale twice to fill in the gaps, which sounds noble but was mostly me yelling at my laptop at 2am. There was something about a list on a forum post with red text saying "LINK DEAD, PM ME" that felt like a secret handshake. Two taps is better, sure, but nobody ever traded passwords in a chat thread to get there.
