Vent: dropped $340 on a used transmission jack that bent on the first lift
Saw a used 1 ton jack on Marketplace in Dayton for $340 and the guy swore it was barely used. Got it home, jacked up a dryer drum I was swapping and the saddle plate folded like cardboard halfway up. The welds were garbage and I could see fresh paint hiding rust cracks once it started bending. That was $340 gone plus two hours I could have spent on a real service call. Any of you run into cracked welds on used lifting gear, and how do you check before paying?
