That time a celeb tried to sell a 'hand-painted' print and it was just a filter

Honestly, I saw this influencer I used to like post about these limited edition prints she supposedly painted herself. She was selling them for $150 each, saying each one was unique. Tbh, I zoomed in on the photo she shared and it was clearly just a digital filter slapped on a selfie. The brush strokes were literally the same pixels in every 'different' print she showed. I called her out in the comments and she blocked me within 10 minutes. Has anyone else noticed celebrities pulling this fake 'handmade' merch scam? What did you do about it?

That one comment about my knife angle completely changed how I debone chicken thighs

Been breaking down birds for like 5 years now for meal prep. Always had trouble getting that last bit of meat off the bone without mangling it. Posted a pic on a cooking sub and some dude just said "your blade's too flat, tilt it 10 degrees toward the bone." I almost ignored it because I thought I knew better. Tried it last Sunday on 12 thighs. First one felt weird but by the third one I was stripping them clean in like 15 seconds each. Felt dumb it took me that long to get that feedback. Anyone else have a random internet comment that actually fixed your technique?

Shoutout to the guy who told me to "just wing it" on my resume

I took his advice and put "expert in making spreadsheets look pretty" on my resume and actually got an interview. The interviewer laughed and said that line is why she called me. Has anyone else gotten away with something silly on their resume?

Noticed a big difference after I switched to waterborne primer

Sprayed two quarter panels last month one with old solvent primer and one with waterborne. The waterborne stuff laid down way smoother with less orange peel right out of the gun. Anyone else make that switch and see the same thing?

My air fryer chicken was always dry till I tried this one simple thing

I kept ending up with dry chicken breasts no matter what temp I tried. After 6 tries over 2 weeks I was about to give up on my air fryer for chicken. Then I saw a tip online about brining the chicken for just 15 minutes before cooking. I threw some salt and water together and let the chicken sit for 15 minutes exactly. Now at 375 for 12 minutes I get juicy chicken every single time. Has anyone else found a quick brine helps with other meats in the air fryer?

Why I finally stopped using cheap crimpers after 3 years on the job

I was out on a job last Tuesday in a new development over in Franklin. Had a customer's cable modem drop signal three times in one day. I kept checking the connectors and they looked fine to me. Then my lead guy came over, took one look at my crimp, and showed me how the cheap tool I was using wasn't seating the connector deep enough. He handed me his Klein crimper and the difference was night and day. Has anyone else had that moment where a simple tool change saved them hours of troubleshooting?

Serious question, are cassette lockrings getting softer or is it just me?

I've been spinning wrenches for about 5 years now, and I swear last Tuesday I had a lockring from a 2022 Shimano 105 group practically strip just hand tightening it before torquing down. Back maybe 2 or 3 years ago, I could torque those things to spec with a Park Tool wrench and never worry. Now I'm finding myself using anti-seize on the threads and going real careful. Has anyone else noticed lockrings from newer groupsets feeling cheesy, or did I just get a bad batch from that one ride?

I finally came around on director's cuts after watching Kingdom of Heaven

Used to think deleted scenes were just padding but that movie's theatrical version made zero sense then I saw the 3 hour cut on streaming and suddenly the whole story clicked. Has anyone else had a director's cut completely flip your opinion on a movie you already saw?

Back in 2019 the meme was just a sarcastic joke about dating bad boys, but now I see people posting it unironically about actual concerning behavior like controlling texting habits or financial irresponsibility, did the internet shift from laughing at this to excusing it over the last 3 years?

My sauerkraut took 6 months to stop being slimy

I started a batch of sauerkraut back in January in my tiny Brooklyn apartment and it stayed disgustingly slimy for 4 whole months. Turned out my salt ratio was off by about 0.5% because I was using a cheap scale that couldn't handle small weights right. Got a proper digital scale for $25 from Target and now my kraut is perfect in 3 weeks flat. Anyone else wasted months on a dumb equipment issue before figuring it out?
