I quit flushing chips down the drain at the shop and my stump grinder stopped clogging
For two years I blew all the grindings straight into the grass behind the shop because it was fast. Last Tuesday the drain out back backed up and I spent 3 hours pulling wet chips out with a garden fork, and it hit me that the pile was the reason the yard floods every spring. Now I rake everything into a tarp and dump it at the community garden on 8th Street, and they use it as mulch. My grinder's hydraulic temp dropped 15 degrees too, probably because I'm not fighting a clogged exhaust screen anymore. Anyone else found a use for their grindings instead of just piling them up?
