My uncle said the arrowheads we found near Abilene were just rocks, then a museum in Austin said otherwise
My uncle has walked the same 40 acres near Abilene for 30 years and always called the points we picked up "just rocks," so I finally mailed three of them to a museum in Austin last month. A curator wrote back saying two were Archaic points, roughly 3,000 to 5,000 years old, and she asked where exactly we found them. Has anyone here dealt with family land finds, and did you report them or keep them in a shoebox like we did?
