I finally silenced my phone and it's been weirdly peaceful

My phone used to buzz with every single app alert, and it was driving me up the wall. So on a whim, I turned off all notifications except for actual calls and texts from close friends. The silence felt weird at first, like something was missing. But after a day, I got more done at my desk and didn't feel the urge to check my screen every two minutes. I even sat through a whole movie without grabbing my phone once, which never happens. This tiny change made me realize how much those constant pings were stressing me out. Now my days feel calmer, and I'm kinda annoyed it took me this long to try it. What small tweaks have made your daily life better?

My buddy Mark did that with his work email and was totally glued to his inbox before. He's way less stressed now just checking it a few times a day.

Totally get what @palmer.richard means about his buddy Mark. That constant checking is just a trap. Setting some boundaries is a total game changer.

Wait actually the real trap is checking right before bed or first thing when you wake up. That stuff messes with your head for hours. @the_linda has the right idea about boundaries but it's more about when you look, not just how often. Like, no notifications after 7pm or before your first coffee. That mental separation is everything.
