My autoguider quit at 2am on the third night of a clear stretch and I'm done blaming the gear
Setup was running fine for about 40 minutes when the stars on my laptop screen started drifting and then the guide graph just flatlined. Turns out the USB port on my old Dell in the backyard lost power in the cold, and I sat there for an hour at 26 degrees rerouting cables before I gave up and shot unguided subs at 60 seconds. I know everyone says to throw money at a new mount, but my real problem was a five dollar powered hub and a cheap cable I have been reusing since I lived in Flagstaff. Anyone else had a cheap fix beat a big upgrade, or am I just lucky this time?
