That bloke on the train taught me more than any ad ever did
Overheard a guy in his 40s telling his mate on the 7:42 from Parramatta that he only clicks through on shorts where the first 3 seconds show the payoff. Said he skips anything with a slow build or a 'wait for it' caption. Made me go back and check my last 12 uploads, 9 of them broke that rule and their retention graphs are dead. Has anyone else changed their whole editing style over one random conversation?

Man, that hits hard. So you checked your last 12 uploads and 9 were doing it wrong, but did you actually fix them or just feel bad about it? Because I've had those wake-up calls where I nod along, then go back to the same slow intro the next day out of habit. The real question is, if that bloke's rule works so well, why does half of the platform still do the opposite? Are we all just copying what we see, or are we actually testing what makes people stop scrolling?
