A customer's complaint about false alarms made me rewire everything

Honestly I think people overthink this window thing way too much. Unless your sensor is literally pointing straight at a south facing window all day it's probably fine. Pet immune is overkill for most situations unless youve got a golden retriever that can reach the ceiling. Just angle it slightly away from the glass if you're really worried about it. Worst case you get one false trigger on a sunny afternoon and then you adjust it. It's not like your whole security system is gonna break because of some sunlight.

Vent: Found 6 dead capacitors in a 2-year-old TV from Best Buy

Is it just the cost cutting that's doing this, or is there something else going on? I've seen the same thing with a few Vizio and Hisense models from around 2021-2022. The caps they're using now are probably rated for way lower temps than what they used to put in. I mean, back in the day you'd see 105C rated caps all over the place, but now it's mostly 85C junk that can't handle the heat from the LEDs. That plus the fact that these TVs run super hot because the whole back is one big heat sink with no vents. The caps might be failing faster because the thermal stress is just too much for the cheap parts they source now.

The time a typo in a caption made a post go viral for the wrong reasons

That's rough, man. Autocorrect really does pick the worst times to mess with you.

Can we talk about the 'post at 2pm' rule for my art page?

Exact same thing happened with my animal portraits - switched to midnight spam posting and suddenly the 2am crowd showed up big time. Now I just post whenever I finish a piece and it always does better than any scheduled time.

Critique on my game night hosting style stung but helped

Wait, you actually handed people a printed summary and it worked better than just explaining it yourself? That's wild, but I guess it makes sense - nobody likes sitting through a lecture before they can start having fun.
