Finally figured out a trick for blending metallic paint on a bumper repair I did last Thursday...

I had this Infiniti G37 where the metallic flake kept pooling in weird spots on the blend panel. Tried reducing the reducer ratio by 10% and it laid down way more even... has anyone else messed with thinner ratios to fix metallic alignment?

Reducing thinner just makes the metallic sit on top and look different when clear goes over it.

Ford actually tested that back in the 90s with their two-stage pearls. The thinner ratio changes how the metallic flakes align before the clear locks them in.

Wait, isn't that just like how temp changes mess with paint in real life too?
