Had to pick between Mansions of Madness or Betrayal at House on the Hill for game night last Friday

I was setting up for a game night with 5 friends and couldn't decide which spooky game to run. Mansions of Madness takes forever to set up with the app and all the miniatures, but Betrayal can be kinda unfair if you get a bad haunt early. I went with Betrayal because I only had like 20 minutes before people showed up. The haunt triggered on the third turn and one guy got eliminated right away. He was bored for the next hour. Has anyone else had a game night go sideways because of a bad haunt roll?

I always thought more flux meant better joints, but he showed me how the residue traps moisture under components. Now I use a tiny syringe with a 22 gauge needle and apply just a dot per joint. Has anyone else dealt with flux residue causing issues months after a repair?

Used to be all about buying new furniture, now I'm a used furniture convert

I was that guy who always bought new from Ikea or Ashley. Thought used stuff was gross or worn out. Then my couch fell apart after 2 years. Got mad and bought a solid wood dining table off Facebook Marketplace for $80. That thing is 30 years old and built like a tank. Realized new furniture is mostly particle board garbage. Now I check Marketplace and estate sales first for anything big. Has anyone else made the switch from new to used?

I was in my book club meeting last Thursday over at Linda's house, and we got into this huge debate about the audiobook narrator swap in book 4 of the Crown of Embers series. Three people in the group kept saying the new narrator was fine because she just changed a few character voices, but I had to speak up because I listen to these books during my commute every day for 8 months straight. The original narrator gave the main dwarf character this gravelly, deep voice that sounded like he was chewing rocks, but the new one made him sound like a squeaky cartoon mouse. I even pulled up chapter 17 on my phone right there at the table to prove the point, and everyone went quiet when they heard the difference. How do y'all handle narrator changes in long series without just giving up on the audiobooks entirely?

Had to choose between coworking in Bali or a cafe in Ubud, picked wrong

Last month I was in Ubud trying to decide if I should pay $200 for a month at a fancy coworking spot or just work from a local cafe for $3 a day on coffee. I went with the cafe because I'm cheap. Day 3 a monkey jumped on my table and stole my power bank, then I spilled iced coffee on my laptop trying to shoo it away. Has anyone else had their gear attacked by wildlife while trying to save money?
