Rant: the $12 heat gun trick that finally fixed my hail dents
I had a 2019 Civic with about 40 small hail dimples on the roof and I was dreading the filler and block sanding job. A guy I know from the shop in Amarillo suggested hitting each dent with a heat gun on low for maybe 10 seconds, then spraying compressed air upside down right on it. I tried it on a test panel first because I figured it would just crack the clear, but the metal popped back almost flat on 30 of the 40 dents. Saved me hours of mud work and the customer picked it up two days early. Has anyone tried this on aluminum panels or does it only work on steel?
