Am I the only one who books the truck a week early and pays the $75 storage?
Everyone on here says wait until the day before pickup to lock in the lowest price, but I booked 8 days out for a move from Reno to Boise and saved $340 plus got the exact date I needed. The broker guy was pushing me to wait, and when I said fine I'll just book now he admitted the earlier slots were filling up fast. Anyone else noticed the last minute stuff is where people get burned?
Ah yes, the classic broker dance where they tell you to wait and then panic when you actually agree to it. Bet he changed his tune real quick when he saw his commission walking out the door. The whole "wait for the last minute" advice works great until it doesn't, and somehow it's always the customer holding the bag when every truck in the area is booked solid. Your $340 savings is basically hazard pay for not playing their game. Everyone acts like booking early is some rookie move, but I'd rather pay a little storage than end up stranded with my stuff on the curb.
