Digital crimpers vs. manual lug crimps on a 737 tray swap
I did a full avionics rack rewire last Tuesday on a 737-800 and used a cheap manual crimper for the first 20 lugs, then switched to a digital preset one we just got in the hangar. The manual ones needed re-doing on 3 pins because of inconsistent depth, but the digital setter matched spec every time without me checking the gauge. Has anyone else seen better pin retention on digital units after putting the old manual tools down?
