Spent 11 hours chasing a fuel quantity fault that was just a loose cannon plug
Last Tuesday I pulled a G550 into the hangar for a left main fuel gauge that kept dropping to zero in flight, and I chased it through the FQIS computer, the tank unit, and two wiring runs before I found the connector at the wing root only hand tight. The whole thing should have taken maybe 45 minutes, but the fault only showed up on the ground when I wiggled the harness in one specific spot. Has anyone else had a cannon plug that passed a continuity check but still broke under vibration?
