Hot take: I was edging my garden beds wrong for two summers straight
Two summers ago I dug a trench around my raised beds and shoved in a cheap plastic edge, and every time it rained the soil just washed right over it into the grass. Last month my neighbor Dale leaned over the fence and asked why I was fighting the dirt instead of guiding it. Turns out I had the trench sloped toward the beds, not away, so I was basically watering my lawn with my own topsoil. I flipped the slope, packed it with crushed gravel from the ReStore, and 20 bucks later the beds finally hold their shape. Anyone else learn a basic grading lesson the hard way, or am I the only one who skipped that day of shop class?
