Appreciation post: watching Alien on VHS beats the 4K version hands down

The grainy tape look and muffled sound actually make the ship feel more real and scary than the super clean 4K disc I borrowed from a buddy in Tacoma last week. The dark scenes on tape hide the rubber suit seams, while the 4K shows every zipper and kills the mood. Does anyone else keep old tapes around just for that fuzzy vibe?
