Hot take: I watched bad movies wrong for 15 years because I always looked for the plot
So last Friday my buddy Dan and I sat down for a double feature of "Sharknado" and "The Room" like we do most months, and about 40 minutes into "Sharknado" he paused it and just stared at me. He said, "You've been sitting there quiet the whole time trying to follow what's happening. That's why you hate these nights." And I realized he was right. I had been treating bad movies like regular movies, waiting for the story to make sense and getting annoyed when it didn't. Dan told me the trick is to stop caring about plot by the 20 minute mark and just count the weird stuff instead. We restarted it and I started yelling out every time a shark flew through a window or someone said a line that no human being would ever say. By the end I had tallied 11 flying sharks and one guy in a bar who somehow survived the whole flood sitting in the same chair. Now I want to know what everyone else does to keep these nights fun, do you all have a drinking game or a checklist or something, because I genuinely thought I was just bad at watching movies this whole time.
