I used to pause bad movies constantly to explain the plot, now I just let the chaos wash over me
For about two years every bad movie night at my place meant hitting pause every 10 minutes so I could break down what just happened and why it made no sense. Then during a showing of a 1994 movie where a dog becomes a lawyer, my friend Dave yelled 'stop pausing, you're ruining the confusion.' I tried it his way, no pause button, and the whole room laughed way harder at the parts I would have stopped to analyze. Last Friday we watched a movie where the villain's whole plan was a fax machine, and I didn't touch the remote once. Now I'm wondering if other people here watch straight through or if you all have a designated pauser too.
