Rant: I used my business debit card for a $12,000 equipment purchase instead of a wire transfer...
The card's fraud protection flagged it for a quick call, but the wire would have just sent the money straight to the scammer's account with zero recourse.

I mean, that's a solid point about the wire transfer risk. But honestly, for a purchase that big, I'd still probably wire it. My bank makes me confirm all the account details in person first, so the scammer angle is less of a worry for me. The card hold would just slow down getting the equipment, and time is money.

You actually go into a bank branch in person? That's wild to me. My bank hasn't even had a local branch for like five years. The whole "time is money" thing falls apart if you're spending half a day driving to a building.
