Used to hate mobile payments, now I'm all in

Got burned by a card skimmer at a gas station in Atlanta six months ago. NFC tap with my phone feels way safer now and I don't even carry a wallet anymore.

Funny how one bad experience flips the whole script on something you used to hate... same thing happened to me with grocery delivery. Never trusted it until I got stuck in a thirty minute checkout line during a thunderstorm. Now it's just part of how I do things, same with tap to pay. Seems like every time I get burned by the old way of doing stuff, the new way suddenly becomes common sense.

Who's to say that bad experience wasn't just bad luck though? Seems like we're too quick to ditch reliable methods just because one thing went wrong.

Absolutely. I had the exact same thing happen with self checkout at a gas station. Used to think it was just a fancy way to get accused of stealing, but then I hit a 45 minute wait behind one guy having a full blown argument with the cashier over a pack of cigarettes. Now I'll walk an extra block just to use the self scan kiosk. It flipped my whole thinking overnight. That one bad line can make you realize the old way isn't always the best way.
