Can we talk about my old mentor's advice on clipper guards
He insisted a 1.5 guard was useless, but after a client in Cincinnati asked for a specific fade last week, I tried it and it created the perfect blend. Anyone have a go-to guard for that tricky transition zone?

Isn't it wild how some old-school advice just doesn't hold up? I had a teacher who said the same thing about the 1.5, and I avoided it for years. Now it's my secret weapon for that exact spot, especially on tighter curls. Sometimes you just have to try it yourself to see what works.

My 1.5 iron gets used more than my 7 iron now, especially for punch shots under trees.
