Customer told me his last barber 'always got it right' and now I'm second guessing myself
Had a guy in my chair Tuesday at the shop on 5th in Tacoma, and while I was fading his sides he mentioned his old barber 'never even had to ask' what he wanted. I've been cutting 11 years so I asked what the guy did different, and he said nothing really, he just never had to explain himself. Made me realize half my customers probably feel that way and just don't say it, they want to sit down and trust you to remember their number 2 taper and hard part without a whole conversation. So now I'm keeping a little notebook in my drawer with names and notes for my regulars. Any of you do something like that or am I overthinking it?
