Heads up about those cheap plastic cape clips

I bought a pack of 50 plastic cape clips for like $15 online last month, thinking it was a steal. Used them for a week and three of them snapped right in my hand while I was putting them on a client. Not just a clean break either, they sort of shattered into little pieces. Had to pick plastic bits out of the cape liner, it was a mess and totally killed the vibe. I'm back to using the basic metal ones from the supply store, they cost about $25 for a box of 20 but they just don't fail. That $15 felt like a save but it turned into a real burn when I had to throw the whole pack out. Has anyone found a good middle ground clip that's sturdy but won't break the bank?

Had the same thing happen with a cheap batch last year. I switched to the nylon-coated metal clips from a beauty supply wholesaler, and they've held up great for months now. They cost a bit more upfront but haven't snapped on me once.

So the cheap ones are basically training clips?

Oh man, I learned that lesson the hard way too... those cheap ones just crumble in your hands.
