Hot take: I counted my November walk-ins and hit exactly 500, now I can't decide if that's a good sign or a warning
Set up a little tally sheet behind the register on Nov 1 just to see how many people came in without an appointment. By the 30th I was at exactly 500 walk-ins, which floored me because my shop in Tucson is tiny, just me and one chair. Now half the guys I know say that number means I'm leaving money on the table by not pushing online booking, while the other half say walk-ins are the soul of a real barber shop and I'd be nuts to mess with it. I go back and forth daily. What's your walk-in to appointment split looking like, and did you ever try to change it?
