Showerthought: A client mentioned his haircut was the only thing he could control after his divorce

He was in my chair yesterday in Cincinnati and just said it offhand while I was lining him up. It hit me that for some people, the shop is way more than just a trim, it's a small anchor point when everything else feels chaotic. Do you guys ever get those quiet moments that remind you the job's deeper than hair?

Yeah, that "small anchor point" thing is real. My buddy who cuts hair had a regular come in after his mom passed. The guy just sat there, didn't talk much, but kept coming every two weeks like clockwork. My friend said it wasn't about the hair at all, it was just the one spot that hadn't changed, where someone would take care of something for him. Makes you see the chair differently.
