My 45 minute daily research routine became a 10 minute doomscroll

I used to track audience metrics by hand every morning in Austin and actually test two thumbnail options before posting, but now I just glance at the engagement tab on my phone and hit upload, so has anyone else noticed their content tanking after they stopped doing that extra legwork?

Man, I gotta say I see it the opposite way. That manual checking every morning probably kept you honest, but it also burned you out over time. I've watched creators micromanage every video into the ground, tweaking thumbnails for days, and their numbers barely move. The algorithm rewards consistency way more than those tiny tweaks. Sure, the extra legwork helps when you're testing a big pivot, but doing it daily is just noise. Maybe your content is actually fine and you're just missing the ritual, not the results.
