Am I the only one who ditches the repair stand for brake bleeds after a mess at the shop on 4th Ave
I was doing a Shimano bleed at my bench near 4th Ave last Tuesday and a bubble burped up through the funnel when I had the bars clamped in the stand, dripping fluid on a customer's carbon bar tape. Now I pull the bars off, set the lever flat on a rag on the floor, and the fluid and bubbles actually travel up, plus I stopped wasting shop towels chasing that mess. Does anyone else skip the stand for bleeds on internally routed bikes, or is it just me?
My buddy trashed his kitchen floor doing the same thing with bars clamped, fluid shot out and stained the tile. Floor and a rag works way better, bubbles go where they should instead of pooling in the line.
