I finally saw the point of stretching when my wrists locked up on a brake job

I used to skip stretching, figuring it did nothing for bike work. After a long day of adjusting disc brakes, my wrists got so tight I dropped a hex key. Another mechanic noticed and taught me a few simple wrist circles. I tried them that night and the next morning my hands felt loose. Now, I spend five minutes stretching my arms, back, and legs before I touch a bike. It cuts down on the afternoon aches and I make fewer silly mistakes. I even keep a resistance band in my toolbox for quick breaks. What small changes have helped you stay pain-free in the shop?

Try forearm stretches against a wall, they saved me during long shifts.

Wrist circles help, but what's your key stretch?

You actually dropped a tool from sore wrists?
