Just realized my $60 digital caliper was lying to me for months

I was chasing a bottom bracket fit issue on a customer's bike and kept getting inconsistent readings, turns out the battery was low and it was drifting about 0.3mm. Swapped in a fresh battery and everything matched my dial caliper perfectly. Anyone else had electronic tools go haywire before the low battery warning actually shows?
