Finally binged The Wire vs Breaking Bad this month - no contest for me

I gave The Wire a shot after years of hearing it was the best show ever, and man I just couldn't get past season 1. Breaking Bad grabbed me from episode 1 with that RV scene. Has anyone else dropped a hyped show halfway through?

Season 2 of The Wire was when I tapped out completely. I kept waiting for that moment where everything would click and I'd see the genius everyone talks about, but instead I just got more confused about who was who on the docks. Breaking Bad had me holding my breath during that bathtub scene in season 1, that's when I knew I was hooked for good. Maybe I'm just too simple for shows that require a spreadsheet to follow, who knows. But when 50 people tell you something is the greatest thing ever and you can't get past the first season, you start wondering if you're the problem.
