Old timer at a hammer-in in Cullman said my anvil stump was backwards, and after 3 test bounces I think he's right
I've had that stump for 8 months and always faced the grain toward me because it just felt natural. He said face it sideways so the wood rings less and you lose less rebound, so I flipped it and my 2 lb hammer bounced back way hotter. Anybody else run their stump a certain way or am I overthinking it?
