I used to think you needed a big table for a good board game night.
Our group of six was crammed around my small kitchen table in Portland for years, and setup was a pain. Last month, I tried putting two cheap folding tables from the garage together to make a big square. It gave us way more room for games like Scythe and its player boards. Now I see you just need to get creative with the space you have. What other simple fixes have you guys used for a tight gaming area?

You played Scythe on a folding table?

Seriously, the folding table trick is a game changer. We used to play on a tiny coffee table and kept knocking pieces off. Now we throw a blanket over two of those cheap plastic tables and it's perfect. Even fit Twilight Imperium on there once, though that was pushing it.

Honestly, I always figured you needed a proper dining table for games. Then my buddy hosted on two old card tables pushed together. Playing something like Eclipse with all its little ships was actually doable. It totally changed my mind about needing fancy gear. Just lining up those flimsy legs gave us all the room we needed.
