My dad's 1987 copy of Axis & Allies finally got a full table, and he beat me in 4 hours
Three years ago I pulled my dad's old copy of Axis & Allies out of his garage in Tulsa, and it sat on my shelf until this past Saturday. He is 71 now and had not played it since 1994, so I invited four friends over and set the whole thing up on the dining table. We started at noon and by 4 pm he had taken Moscow with a stack of infantry I completely underestimated. My buddy Dave quit at 2:30 because he said the rulebook was older than his car, and honestly I get it. I wanted to ask folks here: for these long classic games, do you stick with the printed rules or house rule them to keep people at the table? It was the most fun I have had with a game in years, even losing.
